Interoperability with Micro-X Rover Portable X-Ray and BlueRoom

Interoperability is a key element for the BlueRoom Simulator. This native capability allows any piece of equipment to enter BlueRoom and immediately be used. This was demonstrated at AUSA in DC when the Micro-X Rover portable X-ray system was wheeled across the exhibition hall directly into BlueRoom, allowing training inside a Role 1 medical facility.

What’s New?

This example showcases how advanced equipment can be used for medical training within virtual, difficult-to-access environments. This allows clinicians to practice their skills in realistic environments rather than just in the classroom.

Why It Matters

Medical education requires using hundreds of items of equipment that are constantly changing due to the supply chain, new products, updated guidelines and new evidence. VR technologies do not cost-effectively support routinely changing 3D objects within an experience, yet MR does. MR technologies allow any item from a portable X-ray to a drug ampule or bandage to be used in any scenario by simply 'rolling it in'.
