BlueRoom presents at NATO COMEDS Innovation Workshop in Budapest
BlueRoom Simulations CEO and Co-Founder Ben Krynski recently presented at the NATO COMEDS Innovation Workshop in Budapest, Hungary, alongside Dominik Toews from Skills Med Deutschland.
The workshop provided an opportunity to share our work with BlueRoom and bring end-user data into the discussion about military medical training. COMEDS is NATO’s Committee of the Chiefs of Military Medical Services.
Ben’s presentation, “Preparing Military Medics for Operational Environments Through Mixed Reality”, focused on a challenge at the heart of BlueRoom’s work: helping medical teams prepare for the environments in which they may need to deliver care.
BlueRoom combines immersive virtual settings with physical equipment and manikins, allowing learners to practise with their own hands and real tools. Aircraft cabins, field settings and other operational environments can become part of the training experience, giving educators more options for placing clinical skills in context.
For our team, sharing end-user data is an important part of that conversation. The experiences of the people using simulation help connect technology development with practical training needs. They also give us a basis for asking better questions about how systems are used, what instructors need and where further development should focus.
The visit was also an opportunity to reconnect with colleagues and meet new people working in military medicine and training. Those exchanges matter to us: listening to different operational perspectives helps us understand the challenges that training teams face.
